Winter School 2024 at PAL International School@Hiroo
Theme: Winter Wonders Festival
~A Winter Adventure of Nature and Culture~
This exciting program offers children the opportunity to explore the warmth and beauty of winter through engaging activities inspired by global nature and cultural traditions, including a special experience focused on the Japanese New Year!
Program Highlights:
Global Nature Crafts: Children will create beautiful crafts using winter plants from different countries, learning how nature is celebrated around the world.
Festival of Lights: Celebrate the power of light by creating lanterns and candles, inspired by winter festivals from various cultures like Diwali (India) and Santa Lucia (Scandinavia).
Winter Wildlife Exploration: Learn how animals in different parts of the world adapt to winter and enjoy related animal-themed art and craft activities.
Taste of Winter: Children will discover seasonal fruits, herbs, and spices from across the globe, enjoying winter flavors from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Stories & Music from Around the World: Through storytelling and music, your child will experience winter traditions from various cultures.
Stargazing & Sky Adventures: Kids will marvel at winter constellations, learning about stars and celestial stories from different cultures while enjoying a cozy atmosphere.
Japanese New Year Celebration: As a special part of the program, children will participate in traditional Japanese New Year activities, such as making shimenawa (sacred ropes) and kagami mochi (decorative rice cakes), and experiencing cultural games like fukuwarai and hagoita. This will provide an authentic introduction to Japan’s unique seasonal traditions.
This program is perfect for children who love to explore, create, and experience the magic of winter in a global context. Our Winter School will provide a nurturing environment where children can connect with nature and cultures from around the world, all while having fun and making new friends.
