本イベントでは、岩手県北上市に伝わる鬼剣舞という民族芸能に触れるきっかけを作ろうと思っています！
In this event, we would like to give people a chance to experience the traditional folk dance of Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture, called Onikenbai!
鬼剣舞は、頭や腰を巧みに動かしながら、勇壮に、ときには華麗に踊り、見る者を魅了します。鬼の面を付けて踊ることから、一般的に「鬼剣舞」と呼ばれていますが、鬼ではなく仏様の化身であり、面には角がないのが特徴です。鬼剣舞は、念仏により、人々を救い、悪魔を踏み鎮め、邪気を払う事を目指して舞われます。コロナ禍前は、ウィーン、オーストラリア、中国など世界で公演される鬼剣舞団体もあり、世界からも注目されています。
Onikenbai is a dance that fascinates the audience by moving the head and waist skillfully, dancing bravely and sometimes brilliantly. It is commonly called "Onikenbai" because it is danced wearing a mask of an Oni, but the Oni is an incarnation of Buddha, and the mask has no horns. The Onikenbai is performed with the aim of saving people, stomping out demons, and dispelling evil spirits through the use of Nenbutsu. Before the Covid19, some Onikenbai groups performed in Vienna, Australia, China, and other places around the world, attracting attention from all over the world.
私自身も鬼剣舞を4歳から習っておりましたが、とても激しい踊りで1演目踊るだけで息が上がってしまいます。本イベントでは、3台のカメラを使い、その勇壮な踊りをお伝えしようと思っております。

本イベントは、郷土芸能居酒屋鬼剣舞さん、鬼柳鬼剣舞さん、鬼剣舞演舞者の左京さんにご協力いただきオンライン公演を実施します。

公演者紹介
鬼柳鬼剣舞
鬼柳鬼剣舞は、鬼柳町六軒に明治時代の剣舞面が残り、剣舞があったとする。今の鬼柳鬼剣舞は岩崎鬼剣舞を祖とする系譜に属し、1938年（昭和13年）頃から取り組み、1941年（昭和16年）に六軒鬼剣舞として復興。1954年（昭和29年）の市制施行と同時に鬼柳鬼剣舞と改称した。この間、秘伝書伝授式を挙行、伝承館建設、供養碑建立、道場を設置。
The Oniyanagi Onikenbai is said to have existed in Oniyanagi Town, where sword dance masks from the Meiji era remain. The current Oniyanagi Onikenbai belongs to the lineage of the Iwasaki Onikenbai, which was started in 1938, and was revived as the Rokken Oniken Dance in 1941. In 1954, when the city was incorporated, the name was changed to Oniyanagi Onikenbai.
