Candlelight Viewing of Important Cultural Property Statues (Reservation Required)

＜KURAYAMI-Mairi (Candlelight Pilgrimage) – Reservation Required＞
What is Kurayami-Mairi?
Kurayami-Mairi is a special pilgrimage that recreates a Kamakura-period style of worship.
By the light of candles alone, participants will view the nationally designated Important Cultural Property—Buddhist statues sculpted by Unkei. After an explanation by the chief priest or deputy priest, sutra chanting, prayers, and the offering of prayer talismans will be conducted.
This is a unique experience of facing the Buddha in silence. Advance reservation is required.

Adults: ¥2,500
Elementary school students: ¥1,000
Children below elementary school age cannot be admitted.

② 4:00 p.m.
Each session has a limited number of seats. Please check the reservation calendar for availability.
＜Cancellation Policy＞
7–4 days prior: 20%
3–2 days prior: 50%
1 day prior: 80%
Same day / No-show: 100%
If you are unable to attend, please be sure to cancel through the reservation form.
Refunds will be issued after deducting the cancellation fee.
＜Important Notes＞
Kurayami-Mairi is strictly by advance reservation only. Same-day reservations are not accepted.
In the event of severe weather, disasters, or urgent temple duties, the pilgrimage may be cancelled to protect cultural properties and ensure safety. In such cases, we will notify you and issue a full refund.
Photography and the use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited during the pilgrimage.
Due to the nature of the experience, children below elementary school age cannot participate.
